Tendersweet lives up to its name, a long, tapered, deep-orange carrot with smooth, near-coreless flesh that is exceptionally sweet. Quick start

Sow Tendersweet seed directly a quarter inch deep in deep, loose, stone-free soil so the long roots can grow straight. Keep the surface moist through the 14 to 21 day germination, then thin to 2 to 3 inches apart. Water evenly for long, tender roots. Harvest the deep-orange, tapered carrots at full size in about 70 to 75 days.

Tendersweet needs depth to reach its full 8 to 10 inch length, so double-dig or loosen the bed well and clear every stone before sowing.
