Good

Good growth. Fast. Waaay over seeded. Pick them on the earlier side. It will keep growing and the lower stems get tougher. Really peppery.

Great seeds!

Great seeds! They take root and sprout very quickly, and are bountiful growers! Very happy with them and they taste great! I've grown several batches now, and they've all done well. I use a 2-inch-deep clear drawer organizer to grow them in, with basic seed starting potting mix, and it's perfect. They do well on a east-facing window sill that gets morning light and afternoon "shade." The photo shows the growth after just 3 days, including germination! Fantastic growing speed!

About Arugula Sprouting & Microgreens Seeds

Arugula Microgreens Seeds for Sprouts and Microgreens

Grow bold, peppery arugula two easy ways from one bulk bag. Rinse the seeds in a jar for tender sprouts in a few days, or sow them densely on a shallow tray for a full flush of microgreens in a week or two. Both give you crisp, fresh flavor indoors year round, with no garden required.

Who it's for

Cooks who love a peppery bite, beginners who want a fast and forgiving first grow, and anyone with a jar, a tray, or a sunny windowsill. Works with soil, coconut coir, and most microgreen trays.

How to grow sprouts and microgreens

Sprouts: Soak a spoonful of seeds, then rinse and drain in a sprouting jar two or three times a day. Keep them out of direct sun and they are ready in about 3 to 5 days. Note that arugula seeds are mucilaginous and turn gel-like when wet, so many growers prefer the tray method.

Microgreens: Scatter the seeds densely across a shallow tray of moist soil or coir, mist daily, and give them light once they green up. No soil is required for the sprouts method, only a jar and water.

Harvest

Sprouts are ready in roughly 3 to 5 days. Microgreens are ready to cut in about 1 to 2 weeks, when the first true leaves show. Snip just above the soil line with clean scissors and rinse before eating.

Flavor and uses

Bold, peppery, and a little nutty. Perfect on pizza, pasta, and grain bowls, tucked into sandwiches, or scattered over salads and eggs as a fresh finishing green.

FAQ

Are these seeds non-GMO and heirloom? Yes. Every batch is non-GMO heirloom and germination tested before it ships.

What is the difference between sprouts and microgreens? Sprouts are grown in a jar with just water and eaten whole within a few days. Microgreens are grown on a tray of soil or coir, given light, and cut above the soil after a week or two.

How fast do they grow? Sprouts in about 3 to 5 days, microgreens in about 1 to 2 weeks.

Do I need soil? Not for sprouts, which only need a jar and water. Microgreens do best on a shallow layer of soil or coconut coir.

How do I store the seeds? Reseal the bag and keep it in a cool, dry, dark spot. The seeds stay viable for years when stored this way.

Sow the small seeds thickly across a tray of moist soil or coir, mist to keep evenly damp, and blackout-cover for 2-3 days. Move to bright light after they sprout for peppery, upright greens.
Arugula is fast; microgreens are typically ready in 7-10 days once the seed leaves are open and stems stand upright.
They have a bold, peppery, nutty flavor that is great on salads, sandwiches, pizza, and eggs as a fresh garnish.
No pre-soak is needed for tray-grown microgreens. Arugula seeds are mucilaginous and turn gel-like when wet, so just mist rather than soak them.
