🌱 How to Grow Pea Bistro Microgreens
Fast-growing, crunchy, sweet shoots — perfect for salads, sandwiches & healthy snacking.
🟢 Sowing & Germination
- Soak seeds: Place seeds in cool water and soak for 8–12 hours to speed up germination
- Prepare a tray: Use a shallow container (2–3" deep) with drainage holes
- Fill with soil: Add a thin layer (1–2") of organic potting mix or coconut coir
- Sow seeds densely: Spread soaked seeds evenly over the surface — no need to bury
- Mist & cover: Lightly spray with water and cover tray with a humidity dome or another tray
- Keep warm: Place in a dark spot at 65–75°F until germination (2–3 days)
☀️ Light & Growing
- Once sprouts appear, uncover and move the tray to a bright location
- Use indirect sunlight or a grow light for 10–12 hours daily
- Mist 1–2 times a day to keep soil moist — not soggy
- Pea shoots grow rapidly and prefer a slightly cooler environment after sprouting
✂️ Harvesting Pea Shoots
- Harvest when shoots are about 3–5 inches tall, usually in 8–12 days
- Use clean scissors to snip just above the soil line
- Rinse before use and store in an airtight container in the fridge (lasts 5–7 days)
- You can try a second cut after regrowth, though the first harvest is the most tender
💡 Growing Tips
- Pea microgreens are best grown thick — don’t be afraid to crowd the seeds
- Ensure good airflow to avoid mold development
- Trim consistently to avoid overly fibrous stems
- No fertilizer needed — all nutrients come from the seed and potting mix
