What is a White Albino beet?

How does White Albino beet taste?
It is exceptionally sweet and mild, and is often one of the sweetest beets in the garden. Roasting concentrates the sugars, and it makes a striking white addition to a plate.

Direct sow 2-3 weeks before your last spring frost, 1/2 inch deep and about 1 inch apart. A late-summer sowing gives a fall crop as well.
How long until harvest and what spacing?
Roots are ready in about 55-60 days. Thin seedlings to 3 inches apart in rows 12 inches apart, in full sun and loose, well-drained soil.
How many seeds come in a packet?
Each packet contains approximately 100 seeds. As with all beets, each seed is a cluster that may sprout several seedlings.
Is White Albino beet heirloom and non-GMO?
Yes. White Albino is an open-pollinated heirloom, and all our seeds are non-GMO so you can save your own seed.
Why grow a white beet?
White Albino is very sweet, mild, and completely non-staining, making it easy to use raw or cooked.
How long do the seeds last?
Stored cool, dry, and sealed in the original packet, the seeds stay viable for a couple of years or more, with the best germination in the first year or two.
