How & when to plant

Growing & care

Give Bijou full sun and rich, well-drained soil, and keep it evenly watered. Mulch to keep the roots cool. The plants are self-supporting, though a few short twigs help in windy spots. Deadhead or cut regularly so the plants keep producing instead of setting seed.

Harvest

Cut the short stems for posies and small vases when the lowest flower on the stem opens. Regular picking keeps the blooms coming through late spring and early summer. Sweet pea seeds and pods are not edible.
