6 Easy Steps to Grow Snapdragon
-
Choose a Season – Plant in early spring or start indoors 8–10 weeks before the last frost. Germinates best at 65–75 °F (18–24 °C).
-
Choose the Right Spot – Full sun is ideal, but will tolerate light shade in hot climates.
-
Prepare the Soil – Remove weeds and loosen the soil. Snapdragons prefer rich, well-drained soil; add compost before planting.
-
Sow the Seeds – Because seeds are tiny, mix them with sand for even distribution.
Note: 1 oz covers ~77 sq.ft.
-
Create the Right Seeds-to-Soil Contact – Press seeds gently onto the soil surface; do not cover heavily as light aids germination.
-
Water the Area – Keep soil evenly moist until germination (7–14 days). Water regularly during growth, especially in dry periods.
