Germinated quickly

This is my first time growing cress. The seeds are very small so I sprinkled them directly on the soil and didn't cover them. They germinated quickly and I will be making several succession plantings before the first frost. I like the peppery taste and they make a great addition to salads and sandwiches.

Excited to Have Curly Cress!

I’ve grown myriads of herbs and veggies but never Garden Cress (Lepidium Sativum). It’s supposed to be a peppery herb you can add to sandwiches. I have grown its relative hydroponically, watercress, which is also mildly peppery. So I’m very excited to have something new to try. We have extreme heat here, which is bad for germinating anything, so I’m going to attempt via the indoor hydroponics and will try outdoors in the fall. Very nice packet with information, but should state the year; does have a scannable QR code to a growing guide online. Organo seeds have been reliable for me and are non-gmo. Well update if any issues.

Going to grow it indoors over the winter.

There's plenty of seeds in this packet for both a winter planting in several pots to try to grow them indoors. I'll have one pot with just the natural sunshine of our southwest-facing windows, and one on a north wall, with a grow light on it. I'll let you know how they do.For now, suffice it to say that with the two pots sown, both are starting to sprout with just 4 days behind them.I've used WAY LESS than 1/2 of the seeds in the pack, so I have plenty for garden planting in the spring! These and some new lettuce seeds I'm trying, actually have me looking FORWARD to the "winter growing season" ahead! Never thought I'd say that!

Excellent seeds!!!

I have a small hydroponic system in my kitchen, and my daughter really likes some of the more bitter greens, so I thought I'd see how she does with watercress. These sprouted in the hydro right away. Maybe, by the second day. They grew rapidly, and I repotted them. They did very well in pots by the window, and grow big very quickly! I would definitely suggest blanching it before you eat it to cut just a touch of the bitter. Regardless, these are excellent seeds.

Really germinate easily

Review of Organo Republic Curled Cress Seeds Pack 5GI recently purchased the Curled Cress Seeds from Organo Republic, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. The pack contains over 2,150 non-GMO heirloom cress seeds, and for the price, it's an unbeatable deal.First and foremost, the presentation of the seed packet is well thought out. It’s easy to store, and the individual packet makes it a breeze to keep the seeds fresh until you're ready to plant. This is especially useful for someone like myself who enjoys indoor gardening but also likes to experiment outdoors depending on the season. Now onto the germination and growth process—I'm very pleased to report a high germination rate! Within just a few days, I began seeing tiny sprouts pushing through the soil, which was incredibly exciting. The seeds are vigorous and resilient, making them a joy to cultivate whether in pots or garden beds. The flavor of the curled cress is delightful as well. It adds a fresh peppery kick to salads, sandwiches, and other dishes, making it a fantastic addition to my culinary endeavors. Not only is it easy to grow, but it’s also rewarding to harvest your greens at home and incorporate them into meals. One of the best parts about cress is that it grows quickly, allowing for multiple harvests throughout the season. I’ve enjoyed learning about the plant life cycle and the ease of caring for these seeds has made my gardening experience stress-free and enjoyable. In conclusion, if you're looking to enhance your home garden—whether indoors or outdoors—Organo Republic’s Curled Cress Seeds are a fantastic option. With a great price point, high germination rates, and delicious results, these seeds have exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to grow their own greens. Happy planting!

Delicious!

I absolutely love adding cress to salads and sandwiches, but my normal grocery store doesn't carry it, and I'm not keen on driving all the way to the other side of town to pay out the nose for it at the fancy market. I decided to try growing my own at home since I've had such good luck growing some herbs and lettuce varieties on top of my refrigerator using grow lights. These seeds had a fantastic germination rate and sprouted quickly. They are clearly very high quality seeds and I'm greatly enjoying growing my own delicious cress at home, knowing I'll never again have to go out of my way or spend lots of money for it at the store again. Very happy!

Good Company. Quality Seeds.

I have a number of small "character" planter pot heads that range from 4-5" tall. I like to sew these seeds in my hydroponics set then transplant them to one of these pots. The crests resemble curly hair and they make the pot heads look adorable.Happy Gardening

I've never grown cress

I like to try all different types of lettuce like plants. These were a nice addition to my already thriving lettuce section. They are great to mix into a salad or put on a sandwich. In my opinion they are more spicy when you don't water quite as much.I direct sowed these seeds outside, and sometimes that can be a little challenging for such small seeds, but these came right up and quickly developed into a plant. I was also pleased with how many of them came up. As I said it can be hard to direct sow lettuce. These, had a high germination rate even under difficult conditions.I recommend these seeds.

Nice looking seeds & packaging.

I appreciate the large quantity of seeds, they look great, nice and healthy. Purchased these for my seed library for a future garden. Can’t wait to get these started and will have to follow up with additional feedback once I get them started. Great price, happy with my purchase.

Top-quality Non-GMO seeds, high germination

Just a small garden plot, maybe 2 feet square, will grow plenty of cress for my family and to share with friends and neighbors. The amount of seed in this Organo Republic Curled Cress Seeds Pack is very generous and allows succession plantings every 2 to 3 weeks throughout the growing season and into fall when the weather turns cooler. The packet has a tremendous amount of helpful advice on the back such as scattering the seeds on the surface of the planting bed as they need light to germinate, and keeping the soil moist with temperatures at 60 to 70 degrees F. By providing some shade and plenty of water during hot summer months, the cress will continue to grow strong without wilting. Similar to harvesting parsley, just pinch off or cut the tops, and the plants will keep grow more. Cress adds so much healthy flavor to salads, sandwiches, soups, omelets, and other recipes.

Lots of seeds in the packet

Love the minimalist packaging, Brown paper with simple printing. Lots of seeds inside. Only planted a small handful so far in a self-watering window planter. Looking forward to picking greens to eat in salads and omelettes. Starting another batch of seeds soon. Didn't bother planting these in my outside raised garden beds. I have limited space and like lots of veggies. Appreciate quality seeds ideal for indoor gardening.

Sprouted very fast

I just planted these, and they sprouted three days later! I'm kind of amazed because I accidentally neglected them for part of that time. They look like pictures of curly cress sprouts, so I'm pretty sure they weren't mislabeled or antyhing.

Fast-growing, tasty food source.

These plants grow quite fast, and are tasty to boot! A bit like pepper, a bit like mustard. They are definitely among the tastier microgreens I have grown and eaten. All the ones I planted germinated. Organo Republic know what they're doing! Every seed packet I've gotten from them has been premium quality. It's very encouraging to have seeds grow this quickly. My mom always wanted an herb garden, but was too busy to build one. I've been able to build one for her and it mostly has Organo Republic seeds in it. Highly recommended :)

I'm farily confused about the different varieties of cress

I have previously bought watercress and upland cress in grocery stores, and I've also sprouted cress and eaten this as young sprouts. After receiving the seeds and doing online research, it appears the seeds in this packet are the same as the sprouting seeds I've bought. Lepidium sativum is variously called cress, curled cress, and garden cress, but I guess these are all the same thing. The picture on this page shows them in sprout form, but once fully grown the leaves look quite a bit different. Also, unless a packet says they can be used as sprouts, you can't use seeds meant for planting in the ground for sprouting, as they are sometimes treated with things that makes eating the sprouts inadvisable. I will enjoy planting these once cooler weather comes.

Arrived quickly, in good condition

Received these in good condition - pretty packet and the information provided suggests these are good quality. I do not think there were anywhere close to 2,000+ seeds in this packet (seemed like maybe 1/4 of that). Still enough to do a good section of a raised bed and have a little left over to sprinkle in the wire covers of my chicken run.I will update and increase the rating as soon as they sprout!

Great seeds

There are a generous amount of seeds in this pack, and all of the seeds are in really great condition. None are broken, no chaff, and the germination rate is great with strong, fast growing seedlings. I have gotten a few seed packets from this company, and they have quickly become my favorite. Most seed packets provide few seed in comparison, and vague instructions for growing. This seed packet includes all necessary information for the best growing results, offer a very nice quantity of seed, and provide very viable seeds for successful gardening. Awesome seeds, great price!

Love me some curled cress

I really love curled cress, and love it even more when it's fresh from your own garden. Having used Organo Republic seeds many times, I'm confident in long-lasting seeds (if stored properly) with good germination rates.Cress grows fast and is a nice addition to salad. Easy to garden and easy to sustain. You are paying premium prices for this packet, but this is a case where premium prices are worth it. Top shelf results, heirloom quality you can use for many years to come, and GMO-free.Recommended!

Grow Fast, Peppery Greens from Heirloom, Non-GMO Curled Cress Seeds

Curled cress is about the fastest thing you can grow, and one of the most fun. Our heirloom curled cress seeds (Lepidium sativum) sprout into frilly, bright green leaves with a bright, peppery, mustard-like bite, ready to snip in as little as a couple of weeks. It is perfect for salads, sandwiches, and garnishes, and a brilliant, near-instant crop for windowsills and impatient gardeners.

Who it's for

Ideal for kids, beginners, and anyone who wants results fast. Cress is so quick and easy that it is a favorite classroom and windowsill crop, sprouting in days and ready to eat in a week or two. If you want a salad garden in a hurry, this is it.

How & when to plant

Sow curled cress seeds thickly on the surface of moist soil and barely cover them, since they need light to germinate; they sprout in just 3 to 7 days. Grow it outdoors in cool weather, in full sun to part shade, or on a sunny windowsill in a shallow tray year-round. Sow a fresh batch every week or two for a steady supply. Our Curled Cress growing guide has more.

Growing & care

Cress needs little more than moisture and light. Keep it consistently damp, since it dries out quickly, and give it good light for sturdy growth. It is so fast that pests are rarely an issue, and in warm weather it will bolt quickly, so grow it in cool spells or indoors for the best leaves.

Harvest

Snip the leaves with scissors once they are a couple of inches tall, usually around 15 to 25 days, cutting what you need. You can take one big cutting or trim it a little at a time. Use it fresh right after cutting, since it does not keep long.

Benefits & uses

Curled cress adds a fresh, peppery kick wherever you use it. Pile it onto sandwiches, especially egg and cucumber, scatter it over salads and soups, or use it as a lively garnish. Grown as microgreens or full leaves, it brings instant flavor to the plate.

Why gardeners grow our cress seed

Our curled cress seed is heirloom, non-GMO, and untreated, chosen for strong germination and packed fresh by a licensed seed dealer based in the USA. Grow fast, peppery greens and save seed from your best plants. Choose the pack size that fits your garden and get sowing.
