Good Germination Rate

These are great. I wasn't sure about the germination rate so I planted a bunch and it seems like all of them grew. Very pleased!

Planted...waiting to see what pops up...

Arrived very fast. Seeds are tiny. Prepped three pots and planted today 7/6/24. Will update as status changes....Tiny tomatoes. Larger than a cherry tomato, but tastier. Abundant....just tiny. Will try another set and see if the same results.

Great quality heirlooms seeds for red beefsteak tomato! Made in america!

This is a package of tomato seeds. They are red beef steak tomatoes, and are heirloom variety, made in the USA. I have not planted them yet, but they are excellently packaged and the seeds are in good order. They do not bear an expiration date on the outside of the package, but that's okay because I keep my seeds in the freezer anyway. I usually do not have much luck with tomatoes, so I got these higher quality seeds to hopefully give me an edge this planting season.

Amazing seed company

I highly recommend this seed company. Usually, when I buy a packet of tomato seeds from other companies, I pay around $4 for 25 seeds. However, I got 10 times the amount of seed for a couple dollars more. That's a real bargain! The seeds have a high germination rate and produce thick and healthy seedlings. The packet has a very organic look to it with a lovely illustration on the front, and very nicely written information on the back of the packet. I'd definitely purchase other seeds from this company in the future, and I have seen that they offer an extensive variety. The seeds were of nice size, without broken seeds or chaff.

About 2/3 germinated that we planted

We planted these late in our greenhouse so we got some yield out of them (not great), but that was more on us with a late planting. We had about 2/3 of what we planted germinate, which was pretty good (about 30 seeds, 3 seeds per starter pod). We thinned them out and left the hardiest ones to grow. All but one of the 10 plants took, so these were pretty successful. We've used this same brand successfully for other crops as well - beans, several different peppers, lettuce and a few other things.

Nice seeds. A very viable heirloom variety.

Having gotten seeds from this company before and with having great success with those, I know these should do very well in my garden next year as it is too late for tomatoes here where I live to start now. So what I did was to test the viability of the seeds first by putting about 5 in some water and all 5 sank which is always a good sign. I then took those five and germinated them in a damp paper towel in a ziplock bag over a heat mat and all 5 germinated in about 7 days so I am really looking forward to getting these in the greenhouse after winter. The packets are nice and packed with a ton of planting information etc and also with a link to scan for a online growing guide which other seed companies just do not offer.Very nice value!

Wonderful Addition To Your Homestead!

I purchased this packet of beefsteak tomato seeds for my homestead. I like that the packet comes with information on how to plant, transfer, and grow your seeds. The process was quick and simple to do. The germination was successful and my plants are healthy and strong. The quality is excellent for the price.

Wonderful Quality Seeds

I was very pleased with these seeds, and how well they ended up working out. They sported very quickly in some water, and then I was able to plant them and they quickly grew into little tomato plants. Very high rate of success too. They actual fruits are awesome, they're nice big beefsteak tomatoes, and the actual taste is better than store-bought for sure. I like they're non-gmo and also heirloom quality and it shows. You get a pretty solid number of seeds in the bag too, so I'd definitely recommend them.

Great

Awesome seeds. Get a lot in a pack and a great value for the money. So far the few I’ve planted have come up, so I can’t wait to see how they do and what kinda tomato quality they produce.

Trusted Supplier

I’m relatively new to growing a larger scale fruit and vegetable garden. With that said, I’m looking forward to growing my own tall Utah celery stalks. One of the things I’ve realized early on in this process is that not all seeds are created equally, and how you start is how you will finish in terms of growing a clean and sustainable garden. There are so many things I love about the seeds being offered by Organo Republic, one of which is that they are a US based family, producing a huge variety of seeds. Their products are non GMO and non Hybrid and are constantly tested for a high germination rate. They are a real company with an actual website and offer only pesticide free products sourced from trusted USA suppliers. Not only do they sell fruit and vegetable seeds, they are also suppliers of medicinal and culinary herbs. Honestly, I plan to double back and order the variety packs, because I am super impressed with this company and their high standards in their product offerings. It eliminates the leg work of having to find and purchase from trusted sources. Literally a great place to start a garden or add on to enhance your current garden.I appreciate the sustainable quality of the seeds, informative planting directions, the vast variety of offerings and of course the value and possible yield of this product.🌱Happy to recommend … happy planting everyone!

Red Beefsteak Tomato Seeds Pack

This is a very good brand compared to most seeds on Amazon. I got a full garden seed pack last year from Vine/ Organo Republic and ALL seeds had very good germination and growth. Very impressed with the quality, I look for this brand when I spend my own money on seeds, especially the variety packs. It is too late/ early for tomatoes in South Florida when I received, the 3 test plants that I put in the countertop hydroponic planter all germinated and seems very strong and healthy and grow like weeds overnight. 2 weeks from set, they are ready to be transplanted (but it's still SO HOT, they won't set fruit) Can't wait until October to plant the rest.

You can never have too much quality seed

It is my firm philosophy of organic gardening that you can never have too much seed in stock or storage. It is better than money in the bank. (Well, a home seed bank is the best idea!) You also get what you pay for with seed. Quality seed requires a lot of careful growing and handling and is not so cheap anymore. This is a neat little pack of indeterminate tomato seed. The growing advice and the map on the back are excellent. I have grown this variety many times and this beefsteak tomato is generally a strong plant everywhere, even in semi-desert conditions. Thankfully the pack is labelled as non-GMO, heirloom, and made in USA.

Good Viable Seed

It's probably late for starting tomato seeds, so I only planted 10 of these beefsteak seeds. I planted 10 seeds, and got 8 tomato seedlings. It's 75 days to harvest, so hopefully, I can get a couple of ripe beefsteak maters before first frost. These are good, fresh seeds. I highly recommend them.

Quick germination!

It's too late here to start these, so I'm saving them for next year, but I put 5 seeds on wet paper towels just to see how they'd do and all five sprouted in a matter of days!! I've been really pleased with all the seeds I've tried from this company. The germination rates astound me.

There tomato seeds. It’s going to take quite a while before I can post results but so far the seeds arrived as expected and were packaged well.

Beefsteaks are my favorite tomatoes

Hands-down I love beefsteak tomatoes better than any other variety I've ever tried. Just the name makes my mouth water. Sliced and salted, they are one of the best things of the warmer months. I'm going to try planting these in starter pots, but it's over 100 F where I live right now, and I'm not sure how seedlings will do. We'll see. I may have to wait until late fall.

Decide to grow indeterminate tomatoes!

Description of the tomato:"An indeterminate beefsteak tomato with large (up to 2 pound) bright red, meaty, juicy fruits with classic tomato flavor. The yields are heavy with months of production, often up until frost." For those who aren't into tomato science, indeterminate doesn't mean they aren't sure of what it is. It means that they keep growing and producing fruit throughout the season, rather than growing to final height and putting the fruit out once. The instructions suggest germinating them by soaking in warm water for 6-12 hours, then I guess they're ready to plant in the ground, 1/4 inch deep in loose moist soil.I didn't count them, but I would guess the number of seeds is closer to 100 than to 250. Still, more tomato plants than I have space for.

Red Beefsteak Tomato Seeds Pack 0.5 G - Over 250 Non-GMO Heirloom Tomato Seed

These tomato seeds look very nice, well-packaged and my trial plants have sprouted. I will be planting these in my garden boxes when they get a little bigger. The seeds do not look too dry and these are labeled Heirloom so hopefully it means they have not been genetically altered

Seeds look great!

I just recently planted these, so I cant comment on the germination rate. I will, however, update this as they grow (or don't.)So far, my first impression of the seeds is good! The seeds look great, higher quality than some I have received from other companies.I grow tomatoes both indoors and outdoors so this will be fun to see how these turn out! I cant resist a fresh beefsteak tomato!

Good packet of tomato seeds!

I have attempted numerous times to grow some tomato plants from the seed of the actual tomato. A lot of times I can get the sprouting going and get them planted and I can even grow some big lush tomato plants, but they never yield any tomatoes. I figured I’ll try and see if I have any luck! These are simple straightforward, Intended for growing, And they were at a good price. Wish me luck!

Grow Big, Juicy Slicing Tomatoes from Heirloom, Non-GMO Red Beefsteak Seeds

There is nothing like a thick slice of homegrown beefsteak tomato on a summer sandwich. Our heirloom red beefsteak tomato seeds (Solanum lycopersicum) grow into vigorous plants loaded with large, meaty, richly flavored fruits that can weigh in impressively on the vine. If you grow tomatoes for flavor, this is the classic to beat.

Who it's for

For tomato lovers who want big, old-fashioned flavor. Beefsteaks reward a little care with the kind of taste you simply cannot buy, so they suit home gardeners who want the real thing. Give them sun, support, and a full season, and they will deliver.

How & when to plant

Start beefsteak tomato seeds indoors about 6 to 8 weeks before your last frost, sowing them about a quarter inch deep in warm soil; they germinate in roughly 6 to 10 days. Harden the seedlings off and transplant them outdoors after all danger of frost, in full sun, spacing plants about 24 to 36 inches apart. Bury the stems deep, since tomatoes root along buried stems.

Growing & care

Beefsteaks are big plants that need support, so cage or stake them at planting time. Water deeply and consistently to prevent cracking and blossom end rot, feed them through the season, and pinch out side shoots if you want fewer, larger fruits. Full sun and warm weather bring out their best.

Harvest

Pick the tomatoes when they are fully colored and give slightly to a gentle squeeze, usually around 80 to 90 days from transplanting. They ripen from the bottom of the plant up, and their flavor is finest picked ripe and eaten fresh, never refrigerated.

Benefits & uses

Beefsteak tomatoes are made for slicing: piled on burgers and sandwiches, layered into salads, or simply served with a little salt and olive oil. Their size and meaty texture also make excellent sauces and roasted tomatoes. This is the essential summer tomato.

Why gardeners grow our beefsteak seed

Our beefsteak tomato seed is heirloom, non-GMO, and untreated, chosen for strong germination and packed fresh by a licensed seed dealer based in the USA. Grow real tomato flavor and save seed from your best fruits year after year. Choose the pack size that fits your garden and get sowing.

FAQ

Start indoors about 6 to 8 weeks before your last frost, sowing a quarter inch deep in warm soil; they germinate in about 6 to 10 days. Transplant outdoors after frost.
Grow them in full sun and space plants about 24 to 36 inches apart. Bury the stems deep at transplant, since tomatoes root along buried stems.
Yes. They are large, indeterminate plants, so cage or stake them at planting to support the heavy fruit and keep it off the ground.
Usually around 80 to 90 days from transplanting. Pick them when fully colored and slightly soft to the touch.
Water deeply and consistently rather than letting the soil swing between wet and dry, and keep the plants well fed. Even moisture is the key.
They are best sliced fresh for sandwiches, burgers, and salads. Keep them at room temperature rather than in the fridge, which dulls their flavor.
