Pea Oregon Sugar Pod II Seeds

Probably our favorite green legume. Looking forward to getting these started in the spring to see if we can grow our own!

Nice to find heirloom, non GMO seeds! Arrived safely and look good, they do say approximately 75 seeds but my package had around 55. I just planted them and am hoping for a late fall harvest before the frost settles in. Will update with germination rate soon hopefully!

This pea is a fast-growing Snow Pea and takes about 2 months to fully mature. Be aware that this is a vining variety and not a bush variety, so it will need to be trellised somehow. Fortunately, the vines are shorter than other varieties at around 28-inches and are easier to manage.The pods are approximately 4-inches in length when fully matured and are best eaten when the pods are flat before the seeds have formed. It is a great late-summer variety that freezes well and is resistant to mildew, viruses, and other diseases.I have ordered from this brand before, and they usually include packed for dates, packaged dates, or expiration dates, but it seems that information was left off this time and I have no idea how fresh these seeds may be.

Just received these and got them germinated in 2 days and have transferred them to my hydroponic garden. So far so good!

It's not the right weather to plant peas, so I can't comment on their growth or output. But these look like good quality sugar pod peas. Nice pack of these, enough seeds for my needs. I'll update once we are able to plant these and get some produce.

Such great seeds! They had a great rate of going from seeds into seedlings, which is always a concern. I'll update when we start getting veggies!

I Look forward to seeing my crop grow with these non GMO seeds. The packet of seeds was clearly labeled and had instructions for proper using the seeds. This envelope will fit in my seed organizer sleeves. I have gotten some other seeds from amazon and they have been in non descript cellophane small packets. I ordered these in the fall, so it will be spring before I can plant and see how well the seeds will do

The peas came in a paper seed packet with the opening tab on the bottom. The seed packet has appropriate growing information, though as typical for peas, these are pretty easy and quick to germinate. The packet I got had correct weight of peas (weighing only the peas, not the paper packet) but the actual number of peas was 52. Clearly less than estimated 75 and 3 were unsuitable for planting (malformed, too tiny), but 49 were fine. Fortunately, I wasn't planning on planting the full amount right away and peas have a quick turnaround to getting mature pods that can be harvested to start new plants

Just soaked in water for about 4 hours and put them in ground. They germinate with in 5 days with a success rate of 95%. Highly good quality seeds.

It's getting to be fall now, a perfect time to be sowing pea seeds. Here in Zone 9 they will sprout now, grow through the winter and bear heavily in early spring. Just a few plants will bear heavily as long as you keep them picked. These packet of seeds comes well packed. They should be sown within a year or two, so this is a good amount of seed for a small household.

The package says "over 75", but I actually counted them, and there were 55 in the package. None had fallen apart, all were strong, round peas, with some greener, and some whiter in color (which color will germinate better? We'll have to let you know.)I got them way too late for planting this year, so I'll germinate them in the early spring/late winter indoors, and transplant them outdoors when the danger of frost is past. I'll send myself a note to update this review when we have the results.Meanwhile, since the seeds were in good shape, I'd give this 5 stars if the quantity were as advertised, but since there are less than 75 percent of the nominal quantity, I'm giving only 4 stars. If they germinate well (or poorly), I may change that rating up or down as appropriate.

I planted six of these and all sprouted in like three days. Very fresh! Can't wait to taste the peas.

These are one of my favorites and I plant them spring and fall. They definitely prefer cooler temperatures. This company's packaging is superb, with excellent and thorough labeling. These are 15 grams of sugar pod pea seed that are heirloom, non-GMO, and U.S.-sourced. The back of the packet gives a very good summary of growing instructions or you can scan the QR code. I have found that you can never have too many of these pod peas, clean, organic, and fresh from your own backyard. You can plant them in between other things too, like onions or turnips. I planted them all over the raised bed for a fall crop. You can pick them at any size and add them to salads, soups, and stir-fries. If you miss one and it dries out (turns brown) on the vine, then it is good for next season's seed, too!

Oregon Sugar Pod II is one of the most popular heirloom sugar peas around. It has one of the larger pods of garden sugar peas.These seeds are quite large, which is a good sign that they're mature and viable. I've started sprouting them for autumn growing. It's too early to comment on how well they grow and their taste, but the seeds seem viable and should germinate soon.There's a lot of seeds, so I'll probably have a couple seasons worth out of this packet in my small garden. From previous experience, they start slowly, but will hit a growth spurt before flowering time and completely take over any trellis that they're on. Luckily, the tips and leaves are edible. Get them fresh and early for the most tender ones.

We’re actually just working on stockpiling seeds for the next growing season, in addition to a couple of items we’re going to try growing in our mini greenhouse over the winter, so we haven’t planted them but I’ve used seeds from this brand before and never had any issues. These seem like pretty standard pea seeds so I’m happy with them so far.

These seeds look good and none of them were broken. I soaked them first for 24 hours and then planted and all the ones I planted sprouted. I am excited to get a fall crop out of these in my tropical climate.
