Plenty of seeds to get kale started in early Summer. The sprouts taste delicious!

Great kale seeds! Put the whole packet in my box planter which was way too much—you could easily spread these out over a square yard or more of dirt or more if you wanted to! Followed the instructions and they sprouted within a few days. The planter box was super crowded, so, to make room for growth, I decided to pull and eat about half or more of the sprouts, which were really delicious (slightly sweet in a vegetal way) on sandwiches and salads. Super happy with these seeds and will probably order more next year!

Great quality!

Wow!, I am so excited to grow these seeds, they came with instructions and said to soak them overnight, and I was surprised to see most of them sprouted the next day, so far I am on day five and they're sprouting beautifully!

germination!

• direct seeded them 05/13/24• they popped through the soil on 05/27/24Not all germinated, but it has been very rainy, so they could have washed away. Our days have been in the 80s, and our nights in the 60s here in Northeast Texas. So far, I have no complaints.

Plenty of Seeds and Good Germination Rates

I ordered these for growing in my garden is the Spring and Fall, and in a covered raised bed winter garden in zone 7a. These are some hardy cold resistant greens and do well in early Spring and late Fall, as well as a winter garden. These just won’t tolerate the heat of summer all that well and they tend to bolt in the heat. These work well for folks with limited space because of the fact that it is a dwarf variety. This variety can provide greens all through the winter months, and I am glad that the provided seeds are Non-GMO and grown in the USA, although they are not certified organic. I am disappointed, however, that the package is not printed with packed dates or expiration dates. So, there is no way to tell if these seeds are fresh, and for approximately how long they are viable to plant. These is a great kale variety to put directly on sandwiches or in salads, and they do well in stir fry’s as well.

good germination for me

Kale Dwarf Siberian Seeds Pack 5 G - Over 1,650 Non-GMO Heirloom Kale Seeds for Planting Greens in Individual Seed Packet, Greens Seeds for Planting Home Garden Indoor & Outdoor GardeningI grow a lot of kale, and much of it I grow indoors in a tabletop hydroponic unit. The photo shows the Kale Dwarf Siberian seed that I planted into an Aerogarden Harvest. After only a few days it sprouted into the tiny kale in the photo. I can't speak for all the seeds, but the one I dropped into this pod germinated on the first try.

Abundant Kale Harvest with Dwarf Siberian Seeds

I've been pleasantly surprised by the Kale Dwarf Siberian Seeds Pack. With over 1,650 non-GMO heirloom seeds in individual packets, it's been a joy to plant and watch them grow in both my indoor and outdoor gardens. The compact size of the dwarf plants makes them perfect for smaller spaces, yet they yield a bountiful harvest of nutritious greens. The seeds have germinated reliably, and the resulting kale has been flavorful and tender. It's a simple and affordable way to add fresh, home-grown greens to my meals all year round.

Delicious!

These seeds allowed me to grow an entire bushel of dwarf kale! I think just about every scene I planted germinated, and I've had very good success with other veggies from this company as well. They also have a phenomenal chamomile seed that I highly recommend! The plants appear to be good genetics and have been very healthy so far throughout the growing season. I'm definitely excited for another crop of these in the fall just hoping I can get a lot more before it gets too cold where I'm at!

Actually getting sprouts!

I have tried other seeds for kale but never got anything to grow in my hydroponic garden. These are actually getting somewhere. The seed packet does not reclose so I had to use a baggie to keep the rest in until I need them Hears to hoping that I ger a few leaves this year.

I got good, quick germination from them.

Hardy!

These seeds gave quick, efficient germination and were doing a nice job of growing until the bed they were in decided to stop draining and flood out, causing everything to die- except the kale, which somehow survived and is starting to recover!

Good seeds

Seeds looks healthy in a properly sealed package. Right now is not possible to try, it is too hot outside. I have to wait for August- October time frame. I have not seen any information about expiration date on a package. They are a few QRs code on a package but not all people use QR CODE to learn more. Instruction on a package is pretty straightforward.

Good germination

I will be waiting to plant most of these until it's cooler outside, since right now it's a bit too hot and not really the right season to start kale seeds. However I did test these seeds out. I took a few of them and planted them indoors to see if they would germinate. Most (or possibly all) of them sprouted pretty quickly! So that is encouraging for sure. I look forward to planting the rest of these when it's the "right" season.

So far easy germination with a presoak

I started with 10 of these and presoaked them for 1 hour prior to putting in my seedling tray. All except 2 germinated and I will be getting these ready for outside transplant! Can’t wait!

Tiny seeds, but they sprout just fine

These seeds are small, but I did a germination test with a handful of them and most of them sprouted. I didn't bother counting them, there's so many that I'm going to end up having to thin a lot of them.I'm trying to be a little more health conscious, so incorporating kale and other greens into my diet. They usually grow pretty easily in cooler weather around autumn or spring. I've always had trouble in the summer time with aphids and other pests...and the kale starts to bolt in the heat anyway.I haven't grown this variety before, so can't speak to their growth habit or taste. I did eat a few of the seedlings as microgreens since I'm thinning them anyway. They taste ok.

Sprouted in 10 days!!

I have never had kale start this quickly. I am really pleased. Growing in a raised bed, and they were popping out in under 2 weeks. I still have plenty for subsequent reseeding to keep growing through the season, and germinating that quickly won't feel bad about picking it young!

Great quality

These are very good seeds. They sprout very quickly and appear to be strong and sturdy. I am hopeful that these will grow into some very nice kale. Nice!

Excellent germination

Kale is a cool season crop and grows best when temperatures do not exceed 75°F. Although I won't be sowing these seeds until Fall, I did a germination test now. I began by soaking 22 seeds overnight. The seeds were then spread inside moistened layers of a folded paper towel. Within 3 days, all seeds germinated. Although it's now the end of May and hot, I went ahead and spread the sprouted seeds between the plants in my flower bed. Just didn't want to waste the seeds. I'm hoping to at least get some baby kale greens.

Slim kraft paper seed packet, 5 gm, no expry date or packing date

Slim (narrow) seed package of Dwarf Siberian Kale. Packet has illustrations, planting instructions, several QR codes for growing guides, instagram, etc. Also a bar code. Several references to Non GMO, Made in USA, etc. Also has the company's website address. Strangely, there is no Lot #, Expiry Date or Packing Date printed on the envelope. Bottom flap fold over/glued closure. Lots of seeds in the package. Seems to be a good packet of seeds, but no promises on quality, freshness, etc. A little pricey, but you do get easily 2x the amount of seeds from a regular store bought packet.

Good quality non-GMO seeds

I like that this brand provides a nice variety non-GMO heirloom seeds. This 5g kale pack contains about 1600 seeds. The back of the envelope has good germination tips and climate information -- a nice touch that is above and beyond for seed envelopes. Kale is such a great superfood too, and it's amazing to have some in your garden, fresh whenever you want it!

A healthy amount of seeds

I live in Zone 8b, so I won't be planting these seeds until it's time to sow the Fall crops. But this is a good-sized packet of seeds, and I like that the envelope is a natural paper without glossy inks. I love the taste of Siberian kale, but I've never grown the dwarf variety. Looking forward to getting some of these babies in the ground.

Grow Hardy, Tender Greens from Heirloom, Non-GMO Dwarf Siberian Kale Seeds

Dwarf Siberian is one of the toughest, most productive kales you can grow. Our heirloom Dwarf Siberian kale seeds (Brassica napus) grow into low, spreading plants with frilly blue-green leaves that are more tender and mild than many kales, and remarkably cold hardy. It shrugs off frost, actually turning sweeter after a chill, and keeps giving long into the cold months.

Who it's for

Ideal for beginners and anyone who wants fresh greens over a long season. Kale is easy, forgiving, and among the most nutritious greens you can grow, and this dwarf variety stays compact and productive, making it perfect for smaller beds and containers.

How & when to plant

Sow kale seeds directly or start them indoors, planting them about a quarter to half an inch deep. They germinate quickly, in about 5 to 10 days. Grow kale in full sun to part shade, spacing plants about 12 to 18 inches apart. It is happiest in cool weather, so sow in early spring or late summer for a fall and winter harvest.

Growing & care

Kale is refreshingly low fuss. Keep it evenly watered and it will produce steadily, and a fall frost only improves the flavor, making the leaves sweeter. Pick regularly to keep plants productive, and watch for cabbage worms in warm weather, removing them by hand or covering young plants.

Harvest

Start harvesting the outer leaves once plants are established, usually around 50 to 60 days, always leaving the central crown to keep growing. This cut-and-come-again approach gives you fresh greens for months, right through cold weather.

Benefits & uses

Dwarf Siberian kale is a kitchen workhorse. Use the tender young leaves raw in salads and smoothies, and the mature leaves in soups, stir-fries, sautes, and chips. Its cold hardiness means fresh, homegrown greens even when the rest of the garden has gone quiet.

Why gardeners grow our kale seed

Our Dwarf Siberian kale seed is heirloom, non-GMO, and untreated, chosen for strong germination and packed fresh by a licensed seed dealer based in the USA. Grow hardy, tender greens and save seed from your best plants. Choose the pack size that fits your garden and get sowing.
